Easter Wouldn't Be Easter Without a Peep

Peeper by Curious Girl

What is it about Peeps, those marshmellow, yellow-dyed, sugar-coated confections? I lust for these creatures! Again, a childhood memory that most people I know would call disgusting ("Amen to that" says my husband). And they are especially good if you punch a hole in the cellophane and let them get stale. Then they are all crispy, crunchy and you can bite their little heads off easier! Peeps have always ranked high on my oh-so-sweet-very-bad-for-you-once-a-year junk food list:
  • Candy Corn (Halloween, maybe Thanksgiving)
  • Yellow Peeps (Easter)
  • Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies (well this creeps into the "cookie as snack category)
  • Pink Cotton Candy (Fourth of July)
  • Red Hots (Valentine's Day)
  • Egg Nog (Christmas)
Just a few of the pleasures in life I guess...

The photo is loveling and amusingly taken by one of my favorite bloggers and photographers -- Curious Girl. Check her out!
